Affiliate Disclosure

Money shapes health content, and the useful thing to do about that is say where it comes from.

What is true today, 20 September 2026

There are no affiliate links anywhere on this site, and no product recommendations. Nothing on Circulation Guide currently earns a commission. This page describes how it will work when product guides are published, so that the standard is on record before the first link goes live rather than after.

How this site intends to make money

  • Affiliate commissions on products recommended in comparison guides, where a reader buys through our link.
  • A companion book, when it is written and published.
  • A podiatry practice owned by the author, for readers near Howell or Bloomfield Township, Michigan. This is disclosed on the Michigan page itself.

The rules we hold ourselves to

  1. Disclosure before the link, not after it. A plain-language note sits next to the recommendation, in the place where the decision is made — not only in the footer or a separate page like this one.
  2. Selection by reader need, not commission rate. A product goes in because it fits the task, not because it pays better. Guides will say who should get advice first, and will leave room for the conclusion that no purchase is necessary.
  3. Affiliate links marked for search engines with rel="sponsored", per Google’s guidance.
  4. Gifts, samples and sponsorships disclosed. If a manufacturer sent us something, the page says so.
  5. Accurate labelling of what was done. “Hands-on tested”, “clinician assessed” and “research-based comparison” mean different things and will be used precisely.
  6. No commercial prompts on urgent pages. Pages about clots, acute limb ischemia, spreading infection and urgent wounds carry no shopping links at all.

Amazon

When Amazon links are used, the required identification will appear: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That statement is not on the site’s pages yet because no Amazon links exist yet, and enrollment of this domain in the Associates program has not been confirmed. We will not print the statement as decoration before it is true.

What commission does not buy

A commission does not buy a recommendation, a rating, or the removal of a criticism. It also does not change the medical guidance on a page — if compression is unsuitable for a reader’s situation, the page says so regardless of what it might otherwise sell.
