The short version: this site measures how pages perform, not who you are or what is wrong with your legs.
What we deliberately do not collect
- No symptom entries, diagnoses or health details are sent to analytics or advertising tools. This is the central rule and everything else follows from it.
- No symptom checkers or health questionnaires. There are none on the site, so there is nothing to submit.
- No wound photographs or medical histories through contact forms. Please do not send them; the contact page explains what to use instead.
- No advertising pixels or remarketing tags at the time of writing.
Worksheets and checklists published here are designed to be downloaded and filled in privately. We do not want completed ones back.
What is collected
Visit measurement
We use a first-party analytics plugin that records page views, referrers, approximate location at country or region level, device type and browser. It runs on this site’s own server rather than sending data to a third-party advertising network. It is used to see which pages are useful, not to build a profile of you.
Server logs
Our host, WP Engine, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Things you choose to send
If you email us or use a contact form, we hold what you send in order to reply. Corrections and editorial correspondence may be kept as a record of the change.
Cookies
WordPress sets functional cookies, and more if you leave a comment or log in. We do not use advertising cookies. If that changes, this page changes first and consent will be requested where it is required.
Third parties
Pages link to outside websites — health organizations, and in future retailers. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies. If affiliate links are added later, the retailer will be able to see that you arrived from here; that will be disclosed on the pages carrying those links. There are no affiliate links at the time of writing.
No mailing list is operating at the time of writing. If one starts, subscription will be explicit and opt-in, every message will carry an unsubscribe link, and we will not ask subscribers to disclose a diagnosis or condition to receive content.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can browse with cookies blocked, use a tracking-blocking browser or extension, and ask us what we hold about you or to delete it. Requests go through the contact page.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. This is a general privacy statement for a health education site; it is not legal advice, and it does not create rights beyond those the law gives you.
